Hartech Oversized 996.2 Carrera

There are some Car Adverts that make you go and buy a Lotto Ticket. And not necessarily because you can’t afford the car, but because you want to make sure that you can cosset it in one of the Four Garages you’re going to have built next to the Manor House you buy with the Winnings.

I have a thing for Hartech, and a particular thing for their Oversizing Program that takes [typically] an M96 or M97 Engine and, along with the usual Hartech Treatment, enlarges the Cylinders by some 10 to 15% depending on the initial displacement.

When I saw this 996 Carrera listed on Pistonheads, I opened another Browser Tab and bought a Lotto Ticket. There is not much wrong with it in my mind, certainly nothing that couldn’t be done at home on a Lazy Sunday [enjoying that Lotto Winning Cash during the Week would be exhausting] on the Gravel Drive. But the important Work has been done, and done to perfection. Enlarged to 3.9L, the 350 Horses are put to the Black Top with a Gripper LSD and its Oil Management taken care of by a Deep Motorsport Sump. And the beauty of it, is that when you look in the Boot it all looks pretty Stock. Nothing that would put you off doing a bit of Oil or Coolant administration on that Gravel Drive. Or perhaps whilst on the Four Post Lift in one of those Garages.

Sensibly upgraded Cabin keeps things in the Daily Use category, which is what you’d want to do with this 911, although I’d swap out those BBS for a set of GT3 Wheels just to tone things down a bit. And those Side Decals would definitely go.

But that would be it, what a cracking Motor. Yes please.
