Be Under My Bonnet
I know I have a Problem, I don’t need to be told that. I think I’m slightly obsessive when it comes to the Small Things. I think it’s when I notice a Thing, and then I focus on that Thing, and pursue a Perfection of that Thing until it is so. I’d say that is precisely an interpretation of a having a Problem.
I looked at the underside of the Bonnet one day, and that was that. It had to be perfect, or at least, better. But perfect. What a mess. 30 Years of Engine Heat and Road Dirt taking up residence, so the first Action Item was a good clean. But what to use..?
I didn’t fancy spraying Water all over the place, with Electrical Components in the firing line, so instead I opted for a Dry Clean and the old faithful T-Cut ensuring that the Paint got a bit of rejuvenating in the process.
Sections of the Bonnet that were not covered by the Insulating Sheet certainly bore the worst of the grime. This section front left, where the Air Intake Box is located.
Nonetheless, it looked substantially better after 30 or so minutes of Elbow Grease.

I spoke to The Sound Deadening Shop again in search of the best product for the Under Bonnet, and was informed that nothing really works as well under the Bonnet as the OEM panel, so ultimately scoured the Internet for the OEM piece; successfully. Success comes at a price, which has Import Duty on top of it, so it was a doubly pricey option.
I had a rather pleasant exchange with a DHL Operations Manager who located my Duty Payment and released the Package in an expedient manner.
I also needed Clips to hold the panel in place, which fortunately are a fairly standardised item, from Amazon; and delivered the next day sated my Speed of Need.
So that was that done. That Thing absolutely ticked off the Must Absolutely Do Now List, and pretty much to perfection.

However, I did notice this other Thing that I think I need to turn my attention to..
